Stumped by Tough Trivia Contest Questions? Here's How to Find Answers

Don't Know a Trivia Answer? Don't Give Up!

Trivia contests are giveaways where entrants are asked questions and the winners are drawn from among all the people who got the right answers. Sometimes the answers are obvious, but there are some real brainteasers out there as well. Which could be good news for you. The harder the questions are, the higher your chances of winning if you can solve them because many of your other entrants are going to make mistakes and be disqualified from winning.

But what if you don't know the answer? Luckily, the internet gives us many ways to expand our knowledge and find the solutions. Here are five ways to find answers to even the toughest of trivia questions.

01
Find Trivia Answers on the Contest Sponsor's Website

Many trivia questions are designed to encourage entrants to take a look at the contest sponsor's website. Some contests provide links to specific pages to help participants find the answers they need, while other contests are more subtle.

In these cases, going straight to the sponsor's website could save you time versus looking for the answer through alternative methods.

Spending a few minutes to read the information on the contest website could help you find the answer, and at the very least will be much appreciated by the sponsor.

Ask Your Sweepstakes Club to Pitch In

Two heads are better than one when it comes to cracking trivia contests, and your sweepstakes club can provide you with a group of eager helpers.

Bring up your tough trivia questions at your next meeting, and see if any of the other members knows, or can find, the answers. It's a win-win for everyone when your fellow club members learn about a new giveaway, and you are not disqualified from the contest because of a wrong answer.

Working together to solve tough questions can help improve all of your chances to win.

Use an Internet Search Engine to Hunt Down Trivia Answers

When I don't know a trivia contest answer, the first tool I turn to is Google or another internet search engine. The internet is a vast storehouse of knowledge, and you can find everything from information about what happened on popular television shows to historical facts.

So if your contest is asking you generic trivia questions, the answer can usually be found quickly with a simple search.

Many online sweepstakes directories and online forums are a good place to look for trivia questions. Many sites that list trivia contests also include answers to the questions. Failing that, other entrants might be able to share tips on where to look for the answers.

Social media is another good place to look for people who might have entered and know the answers. Check out sweepstakes groups on Facebook or Twitter for answers or for places where you can ask for help.

Still Can't Find the Answer? Ask an Expert

Some questions can only be answered by people who are really in the know. If you can't find the answer to a trivia question, you might need to ask an expert. Luckily, these days it's easy, and even free, to get in touch with an expert on nearly any subject. There are many different reference sites online, some that focus on specific topics like medicine or childcare, and others that are more general.

By posting your question to a service like Yahoo Answers, Quora, or other expert reference sites, you can get the trivia answers you need quickly and easily.
