How to Make a Milk Jug Scoop
Keep a few milk jugs out of the recycling bin by turning them into handy scoops to use for scooping animal feed, bird seed, potting soil, fertilizer, grass seed, flour and whatever else you have that needs scooping.
For This Project You Will Need
- An empty milk jug (or jugs)
- A permanent marker
- A liquid measuring cup
Cut the Bottom Out
Cut out the bottom out of your milk jug with a pair of scissors.
Mark It and Cut It
Use a permanent marker to make a mark directly below the handle. Then, draw an arc from the mark to the two closest bottom corners, and cut along the line. This will give you your scoop.
Measure It and Mark It
To create a measured scoop, pour a cup of water into your scoop, and mark the fill line on the side. Continue adding water a cup at a time, and marking the side, until you have all of the measurements that you need.
