How to Remove a Facebook Application
If you've ever requested a Facebook freebie, a coupon, taken a survey or quiz, or done anything interactive on the social media site, you most likely have had to install a Facebook application to access these things.
A Facebook app is a piece of software that uses your newsfeed, friends, and notifications to create an experience for you created by that app you downloaded.
You always have the option of not doing a Facebook activity that has you install an app, but there's no reason to miss out on the fun when you can easily remove the app when you're finished or go through your list periodically and uninstall them.
Most of the apps are harmless, but keep in mind that they may end up compromising your privacy by using or selling your personal information.
The steps below will help you remove a Facebook application so that app can no longer access your information.
Visit Your Facebook Privacy Settings
Visit Facebook and make sure that you're logged in. Select the down arrow at the top right and go to Settings & Privacy and then Settings.
To skip ahead and go directly to the page where you delete Facebook apps, open the Apps and Websites page and then skip down to step 4.
View Your Facebook Applications
You'll see all kinds of Facebook settings here that have everything from basic information to what language you use. Near the bottom left, choose Apps and Websites to view the apps that are accessing your Facebook account.
View All Of Your Facebook Applications
Facebook will show you some of the applications that you've used on Facebook.
Choose See More at the bottom of this list to view all the applications that you've accessed on Facebook.
Select the Facebook Application You Want to Remove
Now you'll see a complete list of all the Facebook applications you've given permission to use your Facebook information.
When you see an app you want to delete, choose Remove next to it.
Remove the Facebook Application
After you've selected the Facebook application you want to delete, you'll see a pop-up box asking you if you really want to remove that application. You may also have the option to here to delete the app's previous activity from your Facebook account.
Click Remove to permanently remove the Facebook application. Unfortunately, there's no way to install a bunch of the Facebook apps at once. You'll have to go through each app and remove them individually.
That's it! The Facebook app you've decided to remove/delete is now gone. You'll have to reinstall it again if you want it back.
Keep in mind that you have to give permission for each Facebook app to install, so you may want to be more particular in the future about who you let access your information.
